  • Copy of your ID/Birth certificate
  • Copy of your parent/s or guardian/spouse ID
  • If you have a Smart card, both sides of the card required
  • Proof of income (where applicable)
  • Persons living with disability should complete the Disability Annexure A form, which is available on the NSFAS website
  • If you are recognised as a vulnerable child by the Department of Social Development, you must provide a completed Vulnerable Child Declaration form completed by a social worker
  • If you indicated that you don’t have certain family member details and or an abridged birth certificate you must complete the Declaration: Non-SASSA

The NSFAS online application system will generate a list of required documents for upload based on your application. In order for your application to be processed, please ensure that you complete all sections of the online application form and attach all supporting documents as required by NSFAS.

Students apply online and directly to NSFAS. All successfully funded students by NSFAS are required to submit their application for allowances (Private Accommodation, Transportation and Living allowance) to their respective Financial Aid Offices on campus.
