Ladysmith Technical College was established in the early 1960’s under the Department of Education and Culture. It started by offering self-enrichment courses for adults. By 1984 the college offered formal training from N1 – N3 commercial courses. In 1991 this was expanded to N1 – N6, both in Business and Engineering studies.
Ezakheni Technical College and Skills Centre were established by the then Department of Education in the early 1980’s. Both training centres offered an artisan training based on the scheduled block-release system as well as short skills courses in Plumbing, Auto-motive Repairs, Welding and Carpentry of three months duration. In the 1990’s Report 191 (Nated) courses from N1 – N6 Engineering courses were offered. The College’s Central Office and Ladysmith Campus are situated on the banks of the Klipriver and are located in the central Ladysmith. The Ezakheni Campuses are situated at Ezakheni [A] Section, Ezakheni [B] Section and Ezakheni [E] Section Township, in approximately 25 km away from the Ladysmith town.

Prospective students who are preparing to apply to Mnambithi TVET College for the 2024-2025 academic year should start from  January 2024. Late applications may not be considered, therefore, applicants are to submit their applications within the application period.

For post Grade 12 programmes, applicants must have passed Grade 12/N3/NQF Level 4 or its equivalent.

The online application for 2024-2025 academic is now open to the general public. All students are advised to register online. Follow the step below to apply:

  • Career Guidance

Before you will apply to Mnambithi TVET College you must go through a career guidance section to know or identify what you want to do. Follow this link to do an online career guidance questionnaire https://mnambithi.coltech.co.za/

  • Online Application

The student will choose the course that he or she likes or if the applicant is not sure of the course to choose the career counsellors will be available to help the student identify his/ her strength and weakness to enable the student’s choice.

  • Attach documentation

The applicant has to attach his or her application documents(certified ID copy, results, next of kin ID etc…) this document will allow the school to give you admission but without them your document can be rejected if they are not clear or have an outdated date stamp.

  • Selection

An Email will be sent to the applicant after every step, updating the student about the status of the application. After September 2024, the college will start the selection process and communicate with the applicant regarding the status of the application through email or SMS. The email will have the registration details.

  • Accept offer

The applicant will receive an email or SMS which shows that he or she has been chosen or provisionally accepted and you will be expected to accept the offer on the student portal and print the enrolment form.

  • Registration

Once the application has been submitted, the college will inform the student if you have been admitted and you will be required to write a pace test, thereafter you are expected to start class.

Entry Requirements to Mnambithi TVET College

  • A year end Grade 9 or a higher certificate with English and Mathematics literacy
  • An NQF Level 1 qualification
  • An approved bridging programme to NQF Level 2
  • RPL to NQF Level 2
