Western College (Westcol) is one of 50 public TVET Colleges that forms part of the Department of Higher Education and Training in terms of this act. CET Act. Western College is listed in the CET Act and is included as a TVET College on the list of Public Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges. Public TVET Colleges are not required or issued with a registration number – only private FET colleges are expected to register with the Department of Higher Education. Technical Colleges changed their names from Technical Colleges in the 1980s to FET Colleges and again to TVET Colleges. These changes correlated with the changes in legislation. Westcol TVET College offers various National Certificates in the Business, Engineering, and General fields of study and has registered Examination Centers at Campuses.

• Only applications received during the correct dates will be processed. Please check the opening and deadline
• You will receive a notification via email/SMS about your progress. – Please track your application progress through your student portal
• Please read the minimum requirements before you apply.
• Westcol reserves the right to discontinue a program based on inadequate student numbers or to move it to another campus.
• You need an active e-mail account as we will be communicating with you through emails.
• You must continuously check your sms/ email to ensure that you do not miss any communication.
• All legal papers to be submitted should be originally certified copies and the certification should not be older than 6 months.
