Western College (Westcol) is one of 50 public TVET Colleges that forms part of the Department of Higher Education and Training in terms of this act. CET Act. Western College are listed in the CET Act and is included as a TVET College on the list of Public Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges. Public TVET Colleges are not required or issued with registration number – only private FET colleges are expected to register with the Department of Higher Education. Westcol TVET College offers various National Certificates in the Business, Engineering and General fields of study and have registered Examination Centers at Campuses. Both citizens and international applicants can apply to study an undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate, occupational and other programmes offered at the Western TVET College . The application is made through filling the application form online at the college admission portal.
Admission requirement to Western TVET College
- A year end school report for grade 9,10,11 and 12
- An NQL level 1 qualification
- An approved bridging programmers designed for the specific purpose to access NQF level 2.
- A recognition of prior learning assessment to meet basic requirements for access to NQF level 2
- Senior certificate/N3 or grade 12 for N4,N4 FOR N5 & N5 & N6
