The Further Education and Training (FET) Act, 98 of 1998 constituted all FET institutions in South Africa and includes public as well as private Colleges that offer programs on the FET and the Higher Education and Training (HET) bands of the National Qualification Framework (NQF). The FET Act was amended by Act 16 of 2006 and is now called the Continuous Education and Training (CET) Act, 16 of 2006(as amended). The first phase is the registration forms;

South Africans must use their South Africa ID numbers.
International students must use the ID number of their country and not the passport number.

Phase 2 of the application process:

The registration process and bursary applications cannot be completed without submitting the following documents:

5 certified copies of the student’s IDENTITY DOCUMENT/CARD
2 certified copies of the highest school/college results/report/statement of results
2 certified copies of proof of residence reflecting the student’s details (Bank statement/POR from ward councillor)
Proof of marital status if married, divorced or widowed (where applicable)
2 certified copies of Identity documents of BOTH Parents’/Guardians’ /Spouse’s
If Parents/Guardians are deceased – supply a certified copy of the DEATH CERTIFICATE
If the parents are divorced – a certified copy of the divorce decree
Affidavit of the parent’s whereabouts
Certified copies of both Parents’/Guardians’/spouse’s SALARY ADVICE SLIPS
If a parent/s/guardian is unemployed – the parent must make an affidavit at a COMMISSIONER OF OATHS.
Certified copies of both Parents’/Guardian’s PENSION PAYMENTS not older than three months from the date of application
