Does CJC have Residence? Is CJC accredited?

When considering your educational journey, finding suitable accommodation plays a crucial role in creating a supportive and enriching environment. If you’re planning to study at Central Johannesburg College (CJC), you might be wondering if the college offers residence options. This article aims to provide you with insights into CJC’s residence facilities, highlighting the benefits and opportunities they provide for students.

Central Johannesburg TVET College (CJC) was established on the 11th of September 2003, when the late Minister, Prof. Kadar Asmal, launched the landscape for the then Further Education and Training (FET) sector at our Alexandra campus. The name “FET” was later changed to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) by the current Minister, Dr Blade Nzimande. The College is one of 50 public TVET colleges in South Africa operating under the auspices of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). There are eight TVET colleges in Gauteng. The College has eight campuses: Ellis Park, Parktown, Alexandra, Riverlea, Langlaagte, Smit Street and Troyville. The seven campuses are spread within a radius of approximately 10km from the College’s Central Office in Parktown. The Central Office is based in Parktown, next to the Rodean School, and offers centralised support services such as Human Resource Administration and Development, Finance, Academic Affairs and Student Support Services, among other offerings.

  • On-Campus Residence:

Central Johannesburg College does offer on-campus residence options for students who prefer to live within the college premises. The on-campus residence provides numerous benefits, including convenience, proximity to campus facilities, and a sense of community. Living on campus allows you to be fully immersed in college life, foster friendships, and participate in various extracurricular activities.

  • Off-Campus Accommodation: Is CJC accredited?

In addition to on-campus residence, CJC recognizes that some students may prefer off-campus accommodation options. The college provides guidance and support in finding suitable off-campus housing options in close proximity to the campus. Off-campus accommodation allows students to experience independence while still benefiting from the college’s resources and academic support.

Facilities and Amenities:

CJC’s residence facilities are designed to provide a comfortable and conducive living environment for students. On-campus residences typically offer fully furnished rooms, shared common areas, laundry facilities, internet access, and 24/7 security.
