Port Elizabeth TVET College NSFAS Application 2024-2025

Port Elizabeth TVET College NSFAS Application 2024-2025 Does NSFAS fund PE college students?

If you’re a student at Port Elizabeth TVET College and need financial assistance to continue your studies, the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) can provide you with the support you need. In this article, we’ll guide you through the application process for NSFAS at Port Elizabeth TVET College for the 2024-2025 academic year

Port Elizabeth TVET College NSFAS is a financial aid scheme funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training to support students who do not have the financial means to fund their studies and cannot access bank funding, study loans or bursaries. Students who have successfully gained admission into the Ikhala Tvet College for the 2023 academic year should start applying for Nsfas bursaries from the 2nd of November 2024 to the 7th of February 2025.

NSFAS financial support previously was in the form of loans and still need to be paid back when you find employment after completion of your studies. If you passed all your subjects, 40% of the NSFAS funding for that particular year/semester was converted into a bursary. This means you will only pay back 60% of the loan when you start working.

Who cannot appeal? (Does NSFAS fund PE college students?)

Students are not permitted to appeal if they:

  • Are registered for a qualification that NSFAS does not fund;
  • They have reached N+2 (or N+3 in the case of students with disabilities).
  • The student is a gap year student who NSFAS previously denied financial aid to because s/he did not meet the academic eligibility criteria.
  • If the institution has not submitted its registration record to NSFAS or has submitted an incorrect registration record such enquiries should be directed to the institution.
